Marconi Baseball is owned by Coach Alex Marconi, a local Saint Vincent Saint Mary graduate who made it to the next level. He played baseball at Kent State University before he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2000 MLB Draft. After several years in pro-ball, making his way up to Triple-A while there, he transitioned to coaching Division I baseball. Starting in 2005 at UNC Chapel Hill, Coach Marconi went from coaching the Tarheels to the Ball State Cardinals. Here he stayed for seven years, getting promoted from assistant to head coach in five. He finished his collegiate coaching career with his alma mater, KSU, coaching from 2013-2017.
The Marconi Baseball Academy believes in having QUALIFIED people instructing the game of baseball. All of the instructors have played collegiate baseball and some have played or are currently playing professionally!
The drills, skills and approaches being taught in our facility are taken straight from professional or Division I baseball. They are taught by real students of the game, who have first-hand experience in performing and utilizing these skills. We combine the coaching of fundamental mechanics with the use of state-of-the-art technology to deliver the most comprehensive training. Our approach is a customized system of lessons within a streamlined set of principles. Every player is different, every swing is different!
